Dr Jo Large – Principal Researcher

Jo Large is a senior lecturer in criminology. Jo is interested in examining where opportunities for harm and crime might exist in and around consumer industries. This has included projects on counterfeit goods, the fashion industry, tourism, fitness and health, and gambling.

 

Dr Samuel Kirwan – Principal Researcher

Samuel Kirwan is a lecturer in Criminology and Social Policy. His areas of academic expertise lie in household debt, the advice sector, and where these intersect with the criminal justice system.

 

Josh Torrance – Research Associate

Josh has spent the last three years researching and writing a PhD on schemes that divert people in possession of drugs away from the criminal justice system. During this time he has taught a variety of undergraduate Criminology modules, written reports that involved qualitative data collection and provided harm reduction interventions in the Night Time Economy. Prior to academia he worked as a temporary policy advisor for the Mayor of Bristol, as a drugs worker in a local charity and volunteered for two think tanks.
